The Hostel

The Hostel

Summit Zero Hostel is the ideal place to stay when you want to combine the sea & mountain holidays. Its serene location is the perfect getaway, whether you want to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the area, or indulge in outdoor activities. We aim to provide an informal, friendly, family setup, whereby we hope to cater to all your needs.

It is a two-storey building, with the sleeping quarters and communal guest showers and toilets on the first floor. There is also a large veranda upstairs, with a spectacular view of the sea and the mountain, which is decked out with tables and chairs in the summer months. Each bedroom has large shuttered doors opening out onto the balcony/veranda area. The ground floor is made up of the communal lounge/dining area and the Rusty Nail bar made from reused wood. There is also a large cosy fireplace and a wood stove for those wintry evenings. Here you can relax reading a book from our travelers library, play board games, enjoy our homemade food or surf on the internet. The kitchen and extra rest rooms are also located downstairs. During summer there is also an outdoor wooden Bar area serving chilled drinks and tunes with plenty of outdoor seating under our maple tree.

Accommodation

Accommodation is hostel style, in the form of bunkbeds, but with laundered sheets, pillows and blankets provided. However, you will need to supply your own towels. We do have a small number in stock which can be rented for a small surcharge, but of course this will be subject to availability. The Hostel consists of 4 bedrooms which can accommodate a total of 20 people. There are 2 rooms which sleep four people in each room, and 2 rooms which sleep six people in each room. Rooms are heated individually in the winter. We accept either block bookings for the entire hostel, room bookings, and individual bookings of any number, for those happy to share. Where necessary, additional matresses can be provided in the rooms to sleep more people.

Food

We offer a limited but tasty menu of 2 or 3 different dishes every day, as well as seasonal salads, dips and mezes. A lot of our vegetable produce, depending on the time of year, is organically grown by us at our olive grove just down the road. And of course, we only use our own olive oil too! Breakfast is also provided, usually continental, but also with an additional choice of eggs and traditional pies at the weekends. However, where possible we aim to please and we are open to any special requests such as barbeques and vegetarian needs – please just come and talk to us. Subject to stock availability, it may also be possible to buy bottles of our home produced olive oil and tsipouro (a strong traditional alcoholic drink similar to ouzo). We will also be selling local wines with our authentic family label at certain times of the year.
